A good impression with even plate tone on laid paper with good margins, as published in the Gazette des Beaux-Arts in April, 1881; some pale stains in the margins. Although the etching technique is similar to prints both before and after this one in the exhibition, the appearance of the plate is quite different. It is the distinction between impressions printed by the artist or under his direct supervision and those made by a commercial printer, however skilled.
