The Temple of Pola in Istria

Etching, 1748, from Alcune Vedute di Archi Trionfali ed altri Monumenti, 124 x 255 mm., Focilon 63, Wilton-Ely125. Generally fine impression on laid paper with large margins; slight dry printing in parts of the sky. The Greek-style temple is shown in partial ruins with vegetation growing on and through it. Pola (or Pula) is presently a part of Croatia. The temple still exists, but has been excessively restored.
