Frélaut, Retour de Pêcheur

Retour de Pêcheur

Etching and drypoint, 1920, Delteil 200 ii?/vi, 118 x 207 mm. Superb impression with burr and plate tone, on laid paper with small margins, signed in pencil and numbered from the edition of 30. The impression, though numbered as from the edition of the final state, is clearly an earlier state. Frélaut’s work is widely known and respected in France. In America, sadly, he is best known as a printer for Picasso. This beautiful little print is typical of his work and should redress the balance for anyone willing to really look at it.
