Nu de Dos au Miroir

Aquatint, in colors, 1890s, 288 x 136 mm., proof(?). Provenance: Lucien Goldschmidt, cat. 48, no. 5. Fine impression in tones of blue and green with areas of orange, brown and grey, printed on imperial japan with large full margins. The print is exceedingly rare. No impression of it has appeared at public sale for at least 20 years and it was not included in the Zimmerli exhibition of French color etching (From Pissarro to Picasso). In fact, the only impression of the print we have seen recorded is that in the Goldschmidt catalog-- which is this impression.
