Seated Warrior (Bellona?)

Brown ink and wash with touches of black chalk on laid paper, 270 x 250 mm. Possibly a design for a decorative figure on the right side of a sopraporte, the subject has also been interpreted as a personification of fortitude and study for a tomb figure. While clearly close to some drawings by the Gandolfis (and, just as clearly, not by any of them), the sheet must come from the same place and a similar time, the work of an artist as yet unidentified.
