Etching and drypoint, 1905, Wuerth 365, 278 x 203 mm. Fine impression with manipulated plate tone on old laid paper taken from a book, signed in pencil from the edition of about 40. Pennell was a giant figure in American etching in both a creative and a critical sense (whatever one may think of his more outré opinions). While a few of his prints command exceedingly high prices today, most are still absurdly cheap. We have many etchings and lithographs by him in our inventory.
