Musical Celebration of a Mass
Etching and engraving, 1595, 215 x 281 mm., Hollstein 18-36, from Encomium Musices.
Brilliant impression of an undescribed state before the number (drawn in here in brown ink) on laid paper with good margins. The plate is the only one from the set that does not have a specific biblical reference. Instead we have the full panoply of a ceremonial mass with acolytes, choristers, cornets and sackbuts.
