Bellows, In an Elevator

In an Elevator

Lithograph, 1916, 255 x 204 mm., Bellows 94, Mason 32, edition 54. Brilliant, black impression on imperial japan paper with full margins, signed, titled and numbered in pencil from the edition of 54; some pale, old tape stains in the margins only. The image, clearly a New York City subject, shows an imposingly large nun, in full habit, occupying the limited space with a variety of humankind, including the small, uniformed elevator operator.
