Etching, 1920, 173 x 312 mm., Hardie 192 published state. Fine impression with even plate tone on laid paper with full margins, signed in ink and from the edition of 76 impressions; the paper tone evenly darkened. The scene marks the first entry of British troops into Palestine in 1917. The image shows pipers and drummers standing by a pillar in the desert that marks the border and playing, while a long file of troops marches by into the distance.
