Nude Man Seated on the Ground, Leg Extended

Etching, 1646, 97 x 163 mm., B.R.S. 196 ii/ii; Hind 221 ii/ii; Bjorklund & Barnard 46c ii/ii; Nowell-Usticke 196 ii/iv; ex collection: Dr. Christian David Ginsburg (Lugt 1145); Alexander J. Godby (L1119b).Very fine, lifetime impression with plate tone, on laid paper without visible watermark, with narrow margins on three sides, trimmed ca. 4 mm inside the platemark at the left, removing only blank paper, and with a faintly drawn line to simulate a platemark; small old repairs in the right corners. The overall appearance is fine and rich, quite unlike the flat, grey impressions commonly seen.
