Superb, complete set of 27 plates, in etching, engraving and stipple, plus title plate and with an added engraved portrait of Watteau by Crépy, contained in a fine, full red morocco binding and slipcase by R. Devauchelle.. No. 26 of the set is actually a pasted-in, etched full-length figure by Caylus with Filloeul's name added as exec. and the number 26, and this is identical with the copy of the book in the Bibliothèque Nationale. The prints and the binding in immaculate condition. A rare and beautiful set.
