Description: |
A page from the satirical journal "Uylenspiegel." In operatic costume with buckled sword, Depoitier's open-mouthed face emerges from a mass of curls. Presumably, he was a tenor. A fine impression, unusually (for a journal) printed on chine-applique, with full margins; some rippling caused by the unequal drying of the chine and the thin, wove support paper with text. Music catalog # 543. |
