Fine impression with the highlights mentioned by Exsteens for the second state on Van Gelder laid paper with full, very large margins; edge tears and a paper loss at the lower left of the sheet, all far from the platemark. The image is of a beautiful and sensual young woman in a bowed nightcap, her gown slipping off her shoulder, seated on a ledge. In the shaded tablet at the bottom is etched the inscription "A Grand' Tante, son petit neveu, F.R." The print is rare. |
