Description: |
Very fine, rich impression of this large plate on chine-appliqué with large, probably full, margins, signed in pencil. Lalanne generally did not sign his editions, but signed proofs, often with dedications, are sometimes found. These are usually scarce and desirable. The image is one of Lalanne's typical Normandy coastal scenes, with docks and beached boats, here done on a larger scale than is usual with him. A most effective etching. |
