Finished, detailed study of a Campagna scene, looking from under a natural arch toward a ruined tower. The foliage is well handled and the composition with the roof of the arch taking up the upper third of the sheet is both interesting and idiosyncratic. A name should be put to this sheet, other than the old and mistaken attribution to Robert on the back. |
