Description: A fine impression on laid paper with margins of this interesting and apparently unrecorded print. Metezeau, architect and engineer to Louis XIII, was the inventor of the dike built across the channel of La Rochelle during the siege of the town, which blockaded the harbor and eventually caused the capitulation of the town to the forces of Richelieu in 1628.
