Description: |
Fine, sharp impression with light plate tone on old wove paper with narrow margins at the top and sides and a larger margin at the bottom, signed in pencil; soft vertical and horizontal creases, perhaps present before printing. The view is along a canal and quais toward the cathedral in the distance. The style is derived from Whistler's Venetian etchings, but harder and crisper and without the haze. |
