Description: |
A fine, sharp impression in brown-black ink on old laid paper with full margins, signed in pencil. The Crystal Palace, one of the earliest large steel and glass structures, was erected in Hyde Park, London in 1851 and used for exhibitions, fairs, concerts, etc. As shown in this quite effective etching, it was a gigantic structure of several parts, lined outside with staired terraces, open park areas, trees, fountains and statuary. |
