Description: |
Fine impression on thick wove paper with good margins, initialed and dated (1920 or 1930) in the plate, numbered in pencil and signed in pencil but unreadable and possibly in an unfamiliar alphabet. The drawing and etching style resemble some works of Emil Orlik, and the artist may well be East-European. The image shows three bearded Jews in broad hats having a discussion in a carriage, while a fourth, with a more peasant-like hat, holds the reins of the horses (which are not shown). |
