Description: |
Very fine, rich impression on laid paper with full margins, signed and numbered in pencil. The image is of two farm horses in a rocky landscape. Nicolson was a Scottish-born painter and printmaker who rather specialized in depictions of horses and whose work resembles that of his friend Edmund Blampied. Both his drawing and his drypoint technique were exceedingly fine and his work should be rescued from obscurity. |
