Description: |
Very good impression on laid paper trimmed on or just within the platemark; the paper slightly rubbed and wrinkled in places and the tip of the lower left corner lost, just below the monogram. The subject is a male allegorical figure, seated on a base and holding a different crown in each hand. The design was intended for a figure on the catafalque of Pope Paul V or possibly Pope Sixtus V. |
