Fine impression before the letters on white wove paper with full margins, signed and numbered in pencil and inscribed and signed also by Lotz-Brissonneau, in the original commemorative frame with the molded medalion, the frame-maker's (Preaubert) label on the back, one of five such and a true art historical object. The work was apparently commissioned by Lotz-Brissonneau, like Laboureur a native of Nantes, who also commissioned a similar woodcut of the port of Nantes by Lepère, impressions of which were framed identically to this one. |
