| Description: |
Fine impression with light plate tone on a machine-made laid paper with good margins, signed in pencil and in the plate. This is an odd case, as the etching was made from a sketch by an amateur (Theodore Newel Ely of Altoona, PA) on commission for that gentleman and for private distribution. Parrish obviousy kept a few proofs for himself; he notes three of them sold, of which this may be one. No impression of the plate is known to be in any public collection. |
