Description: |
Fine impression in brown-black with plate tone on thin laid paper with inclusions and good margins, signed in pencil. This is the small version of S. 47, though not an exact copy. It was etched for the N. Y. Etching Club catalog, where it appeared, of course unsigned, in the 1882 issue. Parrish noted only three proofs sold, of which this is one. The plate was sold to Klackner in 1889 and Parrish signed 26 impressions for Klackner. But this is not a Klackner impression nor a NYEC impression, but a proof before all editions and rare. |
