Description: |
A very fine and rich impression, with burr and lightly varied plate tone on an irregularly torn sheet of thin, laid japan paper, signed in pencil. Hell's Hole was a favorite fishing area on Scotland's Tay River. The quiet but effective image shows a broad expanse of the river shadowed in places by the luxuriant trees along both banks. A single figure is in a boat in the middle distance. The print is not often seen (as opposed to many other Camerons) and has apparently not appeared at auction in the last 20 or so years. |
