A generally fine impression but with some later scratches and slight wear in areas of the background on laid paper, trimmed on or just inside the platemark but with a white area all around the engraved work; a tiny nick at the top edge and one or two small pale stains. Alexandre de Sève (1605-1673) held a series of government posts, chief among them Councillor of State and Minister of Finance. |
