The image shows three ladies of different height, but all in long black dresses, singing a chanson. Constantin, somewhat in the manner of Vallotton, flows the blacks into one another, so that the three heads all appear to be emerging from one oversized dress. Coloring is limited to yellow in the hair. A fine impression on wove paper with full margings; slight browning at the sheet edges. Music catalog # 553. |
