Eight Nude Boys
Engraving, 53 mm. diameter, Bartsch 210, Pauli 212 only state. A very good, though slightly later, impression, which nevertheless is superior to the London impression reproduced in The Illustrated Bartsch, on laid paper with a small margin all around the circular platemark. On the reverse is a pale offprint of a different engraving. There does not appear to be any hidden allegory here, simply a combination of figure study and genre developed into an intriguing composition.
