Etching and foul biting, ca. 1620-21, 158 x 121 mm., Bartsch 10; Brown 3. Fine and exceedingly rare early impression, showing strong foul biting and no wear in the heavy shading around the face, on laid paper with the watermark of a bird in a circle, trimmed along the platemark and outside the borderline; lower right corner restored. The impression is stronger and more even than that of the British Museum illustrated in Brown. Stechow has suggested that the poet is meant to be Petrarch.
