Cameron: Murthly on the Tay

Murthly on the Tay

Etching, 1905, Rinder 376 i/ii. Provenance: Day collection (inscribed). Fine impression with plate tone on old laid paper with good margins, signed in pencil. The Tay is the largest river in Scotland. Yes, it's going to rain, but this is the sort of landscape, done quickly, almost brusquely, from nature, that made Cameron's international reputation in the first place. It evokes - and I'm sure the fishing was wonderful.
